Gunmen in a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon fired their weapons in the air to celebrate a shooting attack that left two people dead in Israel, state media said.

The National News Agency said the gunmen in Ain al-Hilweh opened fire to celebrate the “heroic operation” at a pub in Tel Aviv earlier in the day that also left seven wounded, according to medics and police cited by AFP.

Reports said the motive for the Tel Aviv shooting was unclear, and the shooter remained at large.

Ain al-Hilweh, the largest of the dozen Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, hosts an array of Islamist and secular armed and political groups. It is the site of frequent clashes between rival militias.
